Would a snowflake eel be able to stay in a 40 gallon tank for long?
what do you consider long?
thats probably half the minimum tank size i would recommend. i think they grow pretty fast. i think alot of how long it could stay in a 40 is how big it is when you get it

I would probably get a snowflake eel at about 6 inches.
i would say a year maybe two at most. but keep in mind i dont have personal expierence with the animal. the growth rate also has to do with how much you feed it.

ive had my snowflake in my 55 for about 5 months now, i got him at about 6 to 8 inches and id say hes over a foot now, hes got plenty of room at the moment but i plan on moving all the predetor fish from the 55 into a larger tank as they grow anyways, i feed him silver sides about 3 times a week

it could for some time if you bought a juvenile snowflake but you would have to eventually upgrade the tank later on down the road.
