Snowflake Moray size?

I've been looking online for information on these Morays and I'm getting different opinions on size.

I've been told they can reach 40" but most everywhere states 24".

Is this just a regular stunted size and will one get close to 3 foot in a large enough tank?

Mine reached around 42". But I could be because he ate like a king (crawfish)

Oh good so they can I'm setting up a large pred tank and wanted a large eel but not one that's going to eat my fish cheers
