...I saw a 24+ Silver aro in a 75 gallon tank today. If I ever were to concoct a good old fashioned smash and grab today would have been the day. I asked the lady after she denied me the sale of the only two motoro rays in town that I'm aware of.(said the owner was too fond of them to let them go, even though they had a price tag) So naturally I wondered what other shenanigans were taking place there. Low and behold a very healthy and exceptionally unhappy silver that could barely turn around in his quarters. Once again I offered the lady $$$ and a substantial amount at that, but to no avail. Once again the owner was too proud of his specimens to let him go. Has this ever happened to you?
So at a lfs that is reputable in town...

I don't believe you. Something so horrendous could only have happened at PetSmart/Petco/Other chain store, never at a real LFS.
I didnt have a camera and my phone takes horrible picture's but The fish was definately 2ft. plus and it was a 75 standard tank with a Emperor HOB. Made me sick to my stomach. The same store had plenty of show quality discuss and frontosa. Other than the HUGE silver in that tiny tank and the no go on the ray's I was actually kind of surprised to find a decent lfs in my town. It's a pretty good hike from my home, and I am kind of busy during the week but I'll try to sneak by there and get a picture, may be a week or so though.duke33;2336218; said:
