i have read and read and searched and searched and have only become more confused.
Below is he best pic i could get of what is wrong with my angelfish. They are in a new tank and were purchased about a week ago from a LFS. I have had 2 die and am sure something has infected my tank. I have compared the pics that i have seen with both Ick and Fin rot and these dont really look like either. It is a white cottony subsance that is on the fins. 2 out of the 4 are only using one side fin to swim around. Please help.

Thank you Big. I have one specific person at one specific LFS that i trust and i went and talked to after posting. You said exactly what he said. While i was there he checked my water and everything was pretty close to perfect. My nit's were a tad bit high but nothing very bad. I did a 25% water change and did get some medication that he suggested. I know how most feel about medication but this is suppose to be natural and i have no doubt that they are quickly dying.

well i guess im am done with angels. i have had cichlids/fish for 10 years now (bred jewels, bred convicts, midas, red devil, GT, parrots, clown knife, dempsey, etc) and have never had this type of problem. I am assuming that they are infected from the LFS since they only lasted a week or so and all but 2 out of 10 have now died. The water is pristine with ph, nit's, ammonia, etc, perfect. Unfortunatly the best fish store in my state within an hour has closed down. If i was to decide to purchase angels, is there anywhere online that any one has used and trust?

Don't let one bad experience keep you from purchasing more angelfish. While angelfish take a little more care than commonc fish, it's nothing the normal competent person cannot handle. More than likely they were in the early stages of becoming sick when you purchased them...........

understood body. and i am actually thinking of purchasing some more angels. i am going to let my tank sit for a few and make sure the lone fish (bush fish) that has survived everything is doing ok. then i may purchase some from an online store or the one non-chain store we have left in my area.
