Here it is! Built to hold a 150 Tall so it is overbuilt! 4x4 construction held by 8" Deck Screws. 42 screws in all. Every joint is glued and has 4 bolts. The top is doubled up 3/4 inch furniture Pine ply. The thing must weigh 325 lbs. I believe it can support about 25,000 lbs. I plan on painting the top and probably hanging some fabric since I am not very good at finishing work. Never built anything so strong! I welcome your comments!! Thanks!

Looks good. Overbuilt is always better, I don't think you have to worry about it falling over on you.

Thanks! Now my wife thinks it will just fall thru the floor! Keep telling her a 28,000 lb floor jack will support the beams no problem!!

:headbang2Oh yeah!!! This is where I'd hide for earthquakes/tornado. This is great .. dont ruin with fabric. Just get some 1/4 inch MDF/finish plywood and wrap the whole stand with it. Cut 2 big holes, hinge and 2 doors. You can even buy pre-made doors. Paint with "stone-like" spray paint. Its very forgiving and hides lots of flaws.

One more thing. When you get more comfortable with wood, add a matching canopy to your project. This would look sweet!!!

I am a chef not a carpenter! The tank is in my private office....just for me. the tank will stand 60" tall without a canopy! I still need to cement supports into the tank just to hold a lid!

your stand looks real good i am building mine this weekend, im nervous as hell since i have never done anything like this before

Wow, the stand looks really good! Nice job :)

Are the 4X4s treated lumber? If so, you might want to seal them before closing up the exterior or bringing the stand inside the house. Personally, I haven't ever noticed much odor or had any issues with treated lumber indoors, but there are some warnings and precautions floating around in regards to using it.

I am axious to see the stand with the tank!

Take care...

Niiice! Now I feel embarrass cuz my DIY stand looks terrible lol!
