the total value of paper money in the world is approx. 55 Trillion $$s US.
Using the American definition, 1 Trillion is 1,000 x 1 Billion.

There are approx 7 Billion people on the planet .

so that works out to ( brain gears creaking)
about $7.85 Billion for every man woman and child on the planet.

$$BILLION$$, with a "B"!!!!

someone's getting totally screwed here ( I think its me and all of you are secretly $billionaire$!)

simple, that's not a valid measure of cumulative currency in the world.

the latest figure of total "stock of money" is actually $12.35 trillion taken in 2007.

much of this money is in the hands of government and financial institutions, rather than the people.

It's all the people who hoard pennies! It must be their fault! :D

Keep in mind that bill gates has 90 billion dollars.

he does not have $90 billion. his net worth is approximately $40 billion, but that does not mean he has that much cash sitting around. most of it is his share of Microsoft, which is not hard currency or the amount of money he actually owns. it simply represents what he has if he sells his share of Microsoft.

I am only reminded of the old saying:
" behind every fortune lies a crime, behind every great fortune lies a great crime"

$12.3 trillion is still $1.75Bill$$$ each!
:)
I want mine now!!!!! ( and , 'Yeah! I'm prepared to rent a truck to take it away!....I want mine in 100$ and 20$!')
