I was originally going to make an empty 20g a nano reef but decided if i was going to go reef might as well go alittle bigger so i converted my 55g into a reef.
as of now i have 80 pounds of sand X2 fluval 405's should be more then enough current right? and as of today i got my lights in:) http://www.marineandreef.com/AquaticLife_48_T5_HO_6_Lamp_Fixture_Lunar_Lights_p/ral01192.htm .

stuff im going to buy when i get the cash are 80 pounds or so of live rock half base half premium. And trying to decide what protien skimmer i should get im thinking about getting a Remora.
Mike,

Personally I'd ditch the fluvals, get some power heads, and a lot of live rock. After a few months, add the protein skimmer.

I like the new CPR Aeroforce.

Generally agree...people do it, but its usually not on any sort of complicated SW setups...esp reefs.

Whats the status on this project? I love AquaC skimmers BTW...you would be well suited with one. Its the only filtration other than water changes and powerheads thats on my 75g reef.

well i had some set back's that held me back from buying anything major just yet. my lights broke 3 days after setting them up $400+ lasted 3 days lol but i have received my replacement lights today so its all good. all i have in the tank right now are a few dominoes to start the bio going. soon it will start to look like a real reef tank though lol.

Updates? Pictures...whats the overall plan? Softies? SPS?

What did you end up doing filtration wise?
