I would like to know what kind it is.

I'm pressed for time so no pictures, but I can give a description of it.

Mainly the markings, it's got a blue stripe on each side of it's belly, and a blue strip along it's neck.

It's very small, so I'm assuming it's a baby.

I think it was trying to eat mosquitoes that were reproducing in the left over water in my fish tank, and got stuck. I've got him in a small holding tank for right now, and I'll go pick up a bigger tank on pay day. I'm thinking small crickets will do for now?

I think it's a southern plateau lizard.

Any place where I can find caring guides/feeding guides? This is my first reptile I've ever caught/kept.

Your in modesto? Sounds like a blue belly. Does it have a blue belly? Easiest way to know.

could be. i see them all the time in this area

We live out in the country and they are everywhere. We get the occasional skink also. I find them on the sticky mouse traps going after the insects that are stuck on them. I will take “goooff” and free the lizards… pretty cool.

NO Jose.

It's got lateral blue stripes along it's belly, and one going across it's neck.

I guess the common name would be blue belly, or southern plateau, or plains plateau lizard.

so you gonna keep it? just let the poor thing :D

Yeah I am, it's free after all! I didn't think I'd find one here, let alone in my fish tank outside lol. It's a cool little lizard, I'll let him grow up a bit so he'll have his chance to defend himself.

yeah ive never seen one like what you describe. usually its just the blue bellys
