So I rescued a pleco

I got this pleco for free with a 7 gallon bowfront (which he was in) a couple days ago. Hes about 6". I put him in my 72g. Any idea what type it is? I don't know anything about plecos.

sailfin pleco, I have one in my 150g, it's about 15" still growing, should top out at aroung 20"

I think your right, it does look a lot like a sail fin pleco. I'll try and get some more pictures to seal the deal though.

Sorry, not a sailfin. Sailfins have the brick-like pattern in the face area. This has wavy lines just like a common.

It's just a nice looking common in a bright tank. Turn off the lights and put black gravel in it and he'll end up getting darker and blander.
