So I saw this catfish...

And I don't know what it is. Has the basic body shape of a bullhead, eyes at the outside of its head (like an irredescent shark) that look very diurnal. Strong, thick whiskers. It was gray with lots of speckling. About 8" long.

Anyone have an idea?

def sounds like a flathead. a jau would have thinner wiskers and you said it had thicker whiskers. pix will help
