so i say about a week untill my tank dies

so i got in a fight with my mom today about the fish tank.( she would not go pick me up water and i dont want to pump to burn out) so i ask her a few times to go get it then she says

mom: ill take care of the bucking tank myself.

me: do it then i dont give a buck.

mom: im going to sell it.

me: you didnt even pay for it dad did.

mom:dont touch it.

well my mom does not know anything about keeping fish all she knows if theres some flake food on the top of the tank.

Where was the water that she had to go get? Is it salt? Why couldn't you get it? Gotta include a little more info, otherwise it just looks like you were being lazy and making your mom take care of it

ok its salt i dont have one of the water purifier things so i have to buy the water from the store i dont have a car so i cant get it. iv been asking her for a few days now.

OK gotcha. Makes more sense now. That sucks. Maybe you can get a friend or someone you know to give you a ride? Maybe apologize for what happened, tell her the reason why you need the water (pump burning out) and see if you can come to an agreement of some sort. Even if you aren't in the wrong, just admit u are and see if you can get a ride

i know its taking a risk, but you could always use "conditioned tap" water that has been aging and aerating for a couple days. or just drinking water that "you" can get from the grocery store when your mom goes and go with her. im sure shes gotta buy food sometime...

ifyour using tap i say use Prime as your conditioner..

It's that way at my house too. Everyone loves the tanks but only my spouse and I take care of them. But I'm okay with that since they are MY tanks. All I ask is that the other family members look and don't touch.

For a while my mother in law would overfeed our community tank because "they were looking at me and they were clearly hungry".

In some ways, it's a good thing to only have 1 person maintaining the tank. I agree with mamapuff though. Even if you aren't sorry, buck up and apologize and tell mom how much you love your tank and that you don't want them to die and that's why you got upset. Good apologies usually work.

theres no bus in my town but its ok i won she came home with 5 gallons like 10 mins ago just got done putting it in.
