So I was going to make a tank for my ornate to live in (its currently about 4") along with another new baby I got (Florida gar), but I'm starting to see the cost of supplies to be around a couple hundred bucks and it would be the first tank I make. So I've been surfing the all mighty craig's list and petshops... Saw a 150g 48x24x30 (looks like) marked $100 bucks off at a petsmart near by.

So the question is would this be a good size for my ornate to live in for its life time along with the gar?

And what would ya'll said is a fair price for that size tank with a wood stand?

Just getting opinions... Thanks guys and gals

Damn, thats NOTHING, i mean that is ridiculus. For a price like that here you can get a 29g.

GET IT!!!

No no no...... I think you read it cost $100 bucks...

I would have bought 6 of them... :nilly:

"100 bucks off", I wrote.... As in $100 bucks off the price!

$100 or $100 off the retail price? If it's $100 off the retail price then I'd pass on it. But to answer your question yes it could live in that tank for it's life.

I think a Gar would benefit from a longer tank, but it would be fine for the Ornate.

That's whats in the the back of my head... and longer 120s seem too narrow for the Ornate IMO...

So its two "No"s off the bat... Back to the drawing board for DIY I guess...

Stupid standard tank sizes.... :irked:

whats the price of the tank normally?
