I am ordering my third today my question is that I see it rated differently( 428GPH or 500 GPH ) depending on where I am searching. Is the 428gph including media or is that a new measurement without media ? Is there something I am missing ?
Thanks folks

the 428gph figure has been floating around the web for years now.

but I doubt its that much with media.

if it is 500gph with no media, its probably less than 428 with media..

I have a hard time believing that my AC has more flow than my rena XP3...
It should have more flow. The XP3 is rated at 350. The ac110 is rated at 428 on the lowest figure. I would get another canister for my 100 but I already got an FX5 to go underneath.

A XP3 with media and return tubing flows at less then 200 gph.

;) Most mfgrs. flow rates are from tests w/ no media. Depending on media choice & packing, subtract about 25/30% for actual flow. "T"

an ac110 would be a nice compliment to the FX5. think of it as a powerhead with benefits:naughty:
