Decided yesterday that I was going to move my SA tank yesterday to another room. As well as connect a canister that I got a deal on over the holidays. I saved a good 70% of the water before moving as well as put the media from the HOB filter in one of the trays of the canister. When filling the canister it was done with aquarium water not tap water so as not to kill whatever bacteria was in the media from the HOB filter. Just my luck nearly ever was dead this morning. Nitrites are through the roof. I'll be upset if my Severum dies, I've had it since it's only been about an inch long. What a piss off!:irked:

sorry to hear that buddy what do you think you did wrong?
How long was the tank off for?

Sorry to hear :(

Did you feed immediately before/after the move?

Fish were only out in there respective buckets for a couple of hours and I kept the heaters in each bucket to prevent them from getting too cold since it is winter.

I didn't give them any food until later on in the day. Usually after adding or moving fish I don't feed right away. Does that make a difference.

Sorry for your losses.Hope the rest make it.All you can do now are waterchanges till the params come back into line.

so the filtermedia was off for a few hours too then,i think it starts to die after about an hour so it may be that.
When you feed the fish they produce waste snd in this case some of the bb probably died and couldnt keep up but im surprised they all died so quickly, perhaps the stress and the above combined.

that could be it. I've always said, it may be painful, but the best way to learn is by your mistakes.
