OMG, i just had my tonsils removed (tonsillectomy) last Thursday Feb 26th.. Im on day 2 of recovery and the pain is excruciating! I cant talk, swallow or eat anything worth eating.. im getting sick of ice chips and ive been given mixed advice on the benefits of dairy i.e ice cream, yoghurt etc during post op.

Anyone else had their tonsills removed?
Got any tips to make the next nightmare of a week a little less painful?

ouch that sux's bro see a doc.

im no doc but i think some vicodin/percocet should help the coughing if you have any.. or since you cant swallow some liquid tylenol 3 with codeine if your not taking any sort of tylenol yet.

hope you get better bro.

lol thanks guys.. while i was still in the hospital it was excellent, got a shot of morphine and it was happy days ;)

now that im home though ive got pain killers just not as strong as the morphine.. ive got a type of liquid tylenol which helps with the inflamation and swelling, i guess ill just have to wait it out.. it sucks..

well i guess u have to wait through it.. east soft foods. soups.... noodles.... easy stuff no chicken/man food till you feel like your old self.

Had mine out years ago. Just keep the ice creamflowing.

ive had some ol skool home cook chicken soup, it was the best thing iv had in the last 2-3 days.. might stiock up on the gatorade and ice cream then..
im missing real food though, bbq's steaks etc..

I have a good remedy for your pain deep fried halepino bombs covered in hot sauce and pop rocks for zing.
