Wonder if anyone else has been bit by their gar? My usually skittish 9" baby gator gar came to the top of the water seeing me with pellets in hand, literally jumped from the water a few inches as I lowered my hand and bit the hell out of my finger. Wild! Skittish as all hell, but hungry too I suppose.. Anyone have this happen? Haha

Haha sorry guys it wasn't that hard of a bite, just a nip, as if he thought my finger was food! And he's tiny, couldn't cut me if he tried. Haha. Wild as hell though, I definitely didn't even break the surface of the water before he got me. Lol. Just never thought i'd see something like that happen. Ironically he gets fairly spooked when the lights in the room turn on, like most gar. Anyone ever been nipped and have actual marks? Haha

I got blood drawn from my midas he was 15" at the time. He was a mean son of a gun and I had to get rid of him. I had a Flowerhorn bite my nuckle but nothing happened a few scrapes.

When I used to raise Flowerhorn fry I would put my hand in to clean it and literally like piranha would try to bite me but were harmless haha

I once grabbed a 10" L600 pleco, the spikes on the body tore my hand up rly badly. Got suck on by my flagtail while cleaning tank. A homeless man once bit me, now he has herpes, jokes on him

Been bit a couple times by my Cubans. Usually ends up bleeding quite a bit. Never been bit by my others, though they do show interest to anything new in the tanks.

My GT got me last week and ended up bashing his head open on the filter in the process, it was more of a matter of him not knowing where the finger started and worm ended though. I put up a thread in the freshwater disease forum about it because the gash was pretty nasty. It healed shockingly fast like way faster than I could have healed a cut of similar depth. Fish amaze me all the time.
