OF WORMS!!!!

But seriously, if i drop a live worm in he goes nuts. I've never seen a more violent attack by one animal toward another.

And just because I know you want a pic:

Notice the deceptive smile; used to lure his victims into a false sense of security.

aww hes adorable..

You gotta love bichirs. Before my wife had her 55 gal. completely setup, she had a farlowella cat in mine. Well my ornate bichir thought it might taste pretty good. We caught it just in time chewing on the farlowella cats tail and dragging it around. I just nudged him with the algea scraper and he let go. What sucked for the farlowella cat was he was in a ten gallon for awhile until the her tank was done.

I think I might try putting a worm in mine.

yeah well mine is a lazy fat bum and ive been feeding him shrimp pellets all his life(ok he is only 5 1/2 months old or so) so when he smells it he expects to be able to go up to it as slowly as possible and sniff it to make sure its food while it waits for him to eat it. lol, now it might be even harder for him to find them cause i just moved him into my 40gal. today.

I put in worms the same length as he is, maybe an inch less, and he'll eat them in a matter of seconds. The first few he was kind of confused but I think natural instinct took over and he'll destroy them now. The reason I have to put in such large worms is that my barbs think that they're piranha and swarm smaller worms.

PS - he's about 5"
