I had never owned discus before and thought they would be a good addition to the bedroom sadly I started putting things together before I did enough research. I am currently looking at a 55gallon tank with a water turnover of around 13.5-14x per hour..way to much flow for a discuss. I have a couple bags of eco complete I was going to use as substrate and heavily plant the tank. I am still planning on planting the tank and am in search of some other colourful fish that wont mind a little bit of current and wont tear up my plants to badly. Any ideas and or suggestions?
On a side note these are the kind of oversights you have when she decides that the empty tanks in the kitchen need to be setup or sold and you happen to have one extra pump and sump that need to be put to good use. Then you set it up and decide what kind of fish you really want after its already designed
Moral of that story never leave a tank empty and you will never have a problem
