Oh yeah, any one know how sand dollars do in a fish tank? I found a small one today and threw him in the tank.

Sand dollars need a lot of sand and they eat microscopic organisms that you can't really buy at a store haha...At least thats what I think I read.

Best to release it before it dies and becomes a threat to your tank

agreed. sand dollars will not live in the home aquarium but your octo may eat it as they are really just a type of urchin.

They don't do well, but DO NOT RELEASE IT. It's against the law for a reason.

Technically it is still illegal. If it was taken then it is not supposed to be returned. Whether it has been contaminated may be arguable though.
