So.... My name is Evan and today I bought my first Monster Fish! A beautiful 4 inch Red Tail Cat!!!
I have dabbled in fish most of my life and have everything from a 20 long filled with toads I found in the neighborhood to a 100 gallon that I kept six Oscars in. I am now in the military and happily married and money has panned out finally for me to start up again in the hobby. Of course I went a little overboard since I havent owned my own tank in almost four years. I bought 5 tanks (10R, 20L, 25T, 55R, and a 75R!!!) and all but the 75, due to bad seals, now house fish. The three smallest house interesting fish that my wife and daughter can look at and feed. The 55 has my brand new Red Tail and when the 75 is finished I plan to move him into it and get a Tiger Shovelnose Cat to put in the 55.
In the future as he grows I plan to go bigger and better untill I biuld my home and build a MONSTER tank in my basement that will wrap around a pool table!! Any way... Thats the short and skinny about me. I hope to make many friends along the way with my new found love for MONSTER fish and discover many new fish that I was never aware even exsisted!

:welcome:to MFK. This is a great site with many friendly and helpful ppl. Happy to have you aboard...please post pics of your tanks/fish.:D

Your plans are ambitious. Good luck with them. I would like to discourage you from getting any more fish that can't live for life in a tank you currently own. Life has a way of throwing curve balls at you. It would be rather unfortunate if things didn't go as planned and you kept a RTC and TSN in a tiny little tank for more than a few months.

If things work out and you have the big tank ready to go.... get fish that will grow to be big then. Getting them now is rather risky for their health.

Welcome to MFK and thank you for your military service.

Welcome to MFK. I'm sure you know that the Red Tail Catfish (RTC) will need an extremely large tank/pond. You're looking at 800G+
Yes I am aware of the size of the tank needed. I've been told that a 1500-2000 gallon would make him happier, so that will be my goal in the next year or so to get that up and running. I'm fully aware of how big they get and it will take to keep him around for a long time. Thanks for the constructive criticism though!
