I am looking to get a aquastyleonline.com LED kit for my fish only freshwater tank. It will have SA/CA cichlids and no plants. I want the nice shimmer effect the LEDs give off and have tried one of those cheap ebay 30w flood lights but didnt like the color. It claimed to be 6-7000k and I found it to be a bit yellow and washed out the fish color. So on this site they have 10k 6500k 4500k and royal blue. I will definitely get some 10k and some blues but im wondering if I should try some of the lower Ks to mix in as well. I can put each color on a dim able ballast to try to adjust the color. I really like the look of powerglos...I find just straight 10k flor tubes to be a tad greenish. Maybe the 10k and the blues will work...but not sure if I should try to add in some of the others. I may also end up running power glos with a few of the 10ks to add the shimmer but I would rather just all LED. Thanks for any input.
