Currently I have a pair of 10" red devils, a 5" JD and an adult pair of convicts in a 90 gallon long (6 foot tank).. I'm trying to cut back on fish and tanks and was wondering what the odds that I could consolidate those fish, along with a 7-8" texas and a 7-8" african bumblebee cichlid in a 125 gallon tank. Having a hard time selling either the pair of devils or the texas, and want to sell the 90 long, the texas, african, and couple of white convicts are in.. but need somewhere to put them (the convicts are easier to move to another smaller tank though), preferably without having to take them to a store.
The devils are pretty mellow with tank mates, and although I know they've bred at one point before I got them, they haven't made passes at each other in the year I've had them - that I've noticed. They certainly haven't killed thier tankmates, but there are a LOT of plants/rocks/caves for everyone else to hide. Don't know too much about the texas' temperment as it and the african were recently given to me, although it seems passive compared to the bumblebee... Anyone fancy to give me thier opinions? I'm mostly worried about the texas.. the bumblebee can get it's tail kicked, as its is so aggressive the fish store didn't want him and there's NO way I'm putting that jerk in my frontosa tank, stingray tank, or EBJD tanks (the only other tank options they have).
Thanks guys
