Well today (3/21/09) i caught a 3.7 pounder out of a fairly small body of water, that just earlier this month my brother also got a 3.7 pounder out of. It was caught at the same spot of shore line that i got mine on today.

We have fished this spot for 2 years now some what heavy. We have only caught a few decent size bass out of it, but last year we were able to catch the bass in spawn mode and could really come to terms on the size and amount of the bass in there cause the were all in the shallows close to the bank protecting the beds. So basically we know that its only a few decent size bass in the this little pond.

Today after weighing the fish and it being the same exact weight, i asked big bruh " do u think its the same fish". He went into his phone and we looked at the picture of the one he caught and i could clearly see the same pieces of dorso fin missing.

We came to an agreement that we think it's the same fish.

SO WHAT DO YOU THINK???????????????

its very well could be Ive caught the same smallmouth bass at the local river like the past three years it has a very unique mark where it scales are in a cicle pattern instead of normal its pretty cool

i think on small bodies of water catching the same fish twice in one fishing season is very possible

i have caught the same fish on differnt baits on the same day out a a very small pond

Yeah it looks to be the same fish, same dorsal junk missing/torn and the patterning is almost the same.

That's pretty cool. And really cool that they're already biting up there. I can't get anything down here yet.

Yeah, just looked at that thread, Williamsburg's pretty far from me though. Does look like some good fishing though.

I was only using live crayfish, i got a few sunfish as usual (i can catch them without bait sometimes :screwy: ) i would have used some helgamites but it was too cold for me to go deep enough to get them.

I usually only use live bait, and most of the time it works well for me. But i guess its time for me to modernize and start looking at some fake baits.

What would you recommend for LMB or just fishing in general. I usually go in the river if that makes any difference.

early season try ratling jigs by boo-ya, husky jurk baits(rapala), lipless crank baits and big swim-baits cuz they work reall good cuz of the noise they make

when the water reaches 50 pull out the rubber and wire baits

buzz/spinner baits

I think it is. Last year i caught the same fish 5 times i knew it because it had been hit by a heeron and it had a scar and came from the same brush pile
