So what kind of lights are u using under your canopy's

heres some glass on the tank to protect splashes

it works and looks great except the humidity gets to it and the lites rust after 6 weeks. then im off to spend another 7 bucks to get new ones

so back to the point what kind of lights are you guys using

Are your bulbs rusting on the metal ends? and corrosion between where the metal and glass meets? I think this could be overcome by a bit of paint on the metal and a dab of silicone around where the glass/metal meet on the bulb.

Another possibility is to put some electrical grease in the light sockets to prevent the sockets and pins on the bulbs from from rusting

electrical grease is a good idea.

A fan to pull the humid air out and some holes in the canopy back to draw in dry room air.

the pins are whats rusted but not that bad, after a couple of weeks the lights just start to flicker
ive got holes in the back, no fans but the grease thing sounds good

Just buy waterproof endcaps.

My bro n law had a condensation prob on his 135 canopy. One fan and now its dry...I dont know if it dry enough to noe grow anythting or rust anything...he just has VHO's with WP endcaps....

My fixture is only a tad wider than the bulbs are, it stays pretty warm and dry under there for me.

I would put a fan in there to get rid of some of the humidity.
