Hey guys my wife got me an awesome piece of driftwood for Christmas. It was so big I had to cut it in a few spots to get it to fit.

Got it in the tank finally, plants superglued on, and filled the tank.

It's of course floating now and probably will for a while unless it being so large maybe will make it sink faster.

My grandpa helped me get it all set up and he was worried about the front 2 legs being against the glass while it was soaking. He was thinking once it settled it may would push against the front of the glass and break it.

I don't that will happen at all and I'll keep an eye on it. These tanks hold thousands of pounds of weight. I don't think a piece of driftwood touching it is gonna matter is it? Just got me paranoid. Here's a photo 20151226_164200.jpg

The wood will swell and expand as it takes in water. If how you have it will put pressure of opposing walls if may make the tank burst. Try just re positioning it so it's not making contact for the first week or so as to let it waterlog. And then move it to desired location.

Ok got it moved to where it's only touching the front side at 2 small spots. Nothing is touching the back. Should be good now right?

A nice piece. My piece also was against the glass and I did not have any problems. But I will say if you can position it where it is not resting against the glass that is the way to go.

Very nice piece :)

Yeah as others said, don't jam it so that when it expands it gives you problems; worst case scenario get a plastic drum or something and submerge it there for a while; but if you have clearance at the back of about an inch, I'd say you'll be fine
