soaking pellets

Who soaks their pellet food? I'm feeding northfin and it doesn't seem to expand much. I'm wondering if it's pointless and not necessary

I soak mine because many locals have said it will inflate inside the stomach of the fish and cause problems. I have however not done it from time to time and have not noticed any adverse affects. I guess its a better safe than sorry thing
