I have come to a conclusion, purely based on my meager knowledge.

SoCal may have great deals on tanks & fish, but we have NO place to catch anything.
Is it just me? I am so jealous hearing about all the Florida MFK'rs going out and catching all these bad *** fish. All I can get is ugly fishies, not worthy of bringing home alive.

Anybody know where to fish out here and actually catch something different?

True, very true. But a completely different situation if your sole intention is to catch aquarium quality keepers.
I know plenty of places to fish with great fishing, but nowhere to fish where I'd be amazed at what I could potentially catch.
Kind of like the ultimate DIY. DIY fish stock.

go catfishin. check out the aqueduct, some cool fish in there. head up the 15 past cajon pass into hesperia, exit Main St. turn right and follow it to the duct overpass. you can access it from there or maple (?) street.

Ive wondered the same thing for awhile.
Theres plenty of places to catch food fish(Bass, Catfish, Trout, Bream)
But theres not really anywhere to catch rare or cool fish.

I think somone needs to buy some land, build a big pond, or small lake...and stock it full of different fish.

What have you seen or heard about being pulled out of there?
All i know of in there is Stripers, Catfish, Carp, and some Bass?

Still haven't made it up there, but heard about crappy crappies and dumb bluegills. I was pecking around on some fishing site. There isn't even a peacock bass in Cali. I dunno. Guess it's just not for aquarium stuff aside from salt water fishies.
