i'm going to place a bid on aquabid for some F0 wild columbian hoplarchus psittacus pretty soon.
anyone interested to split some shipping?? the new fish shipment will arrive in 2 weeks.

here is another picture that the seller sent me of some fish he recently sold.

if we get some volume i'll see if we can get a bit of a discount. currently the bid is at $35/fish (NO reserve price), which is a STEAL! they are 6-7" TL from what i am told.

shipping i am guessing is around $75+ to maybe $100 if past experience ordering fish tells me anything.

no flaking. pm me only if you are serious and are prepared to put money down.
let's get some rare fish into SOCAL!! :headbang2:headbang2

Watch out for HITH. It looks like those ones in the pictures have some. Its treatable, but if you can avoid it, do it at all costs...;). Look behind the eyes, see those white patches? They shouldn't be there...;)

hmm HITH came across my mind... any additional pointers?
is that white patch HITH or...?

The last parrot furthest to the right definately has some HITH. If you look directly behind the eye there is a little vertical patch of white that looks 'empty'...HITH. THe others look better. Have the guy clean the glass next time so you can get a better look. For those prices though, i would jump on it. You can aways clean up the HITH...;)

probly due more to shipping stress. given your attention to detail you should be able to clear them up well
would go in with you on it but am accross country.
wondering how well a male and a couple of females would do together

i heard that conspecies aggression is an issue.
but that being said, which cichlid isn't somewhat intolerant of their own?
males will always be wanting to get it on more than females...
if anything a group of 4 or 6 will surely get you some kind of pairing action after a while. unless you are super unlucky *cross fingers*

hmmm i never really had a HITH problem before... or rather i've never purchased a fish with HITH knowingly...
massive water changes and good foods i guess. heh...
