Sodium metabisulfite - Frozen Shrimp Preservatives. Is it safe?

Hello everyone,

Picked up some frozen shrimp today. Noticed that 90% of all frozen shrimp contains some sort of preservative - either to retain moisture or freshness. Are these safe for my Arowana and Rays?

I have read in another thread somewhere that fish were lost feeding shrimp from China & Vietnam. Seems like the shrimp from Thailand is okay. The tread also stated they thought is maybe from cleaning agents that are use to clean the counters and what not during processing.
