Soft shell turtle

In search of Leiarius
What type of soft shell turtle gets a shell as big around as an average american's head and has this long neck the length of the shell that it stetches out to breathe air while the body is submerged and is white/light gry in color, my lfs got them in once yet werent able to tell me species and they just called them softshelled turtles.

I can't find this turtle through google due to not knowing its proper name.

smallest one i beleive is a male smooth soft shelled turtle.
asians might be smaller but i dont beleive so, also if your lfs had it id imagine it was asian.
 
that just about describes all softies. maybe a spiny softshell since they are the most common in pet stores from what I have seen.
 
sorry about the description but they were more whitish than graish and when they got them in they were silver dollar sized. color was almost cramy cray colored.

Also for some reason months later someone couldn't take care of the one they got anymore and it was 6inche wide shell and loved to chase people that had any tpe of food.

They looked like asians but alot whiter in color like cream colored. I got it the color was the same color as flour.

My lfs owner used to own an exotic pet store, and still has contacts to get inverts and reptiles if yah ask only if they are legal.
 
i seen nice healty ones for 9.99lbs at sea food markets. real talk thats wer i would buy one from u can get one under 6" for under $10.00 and you save its life.

Unfortunately there isn't a large enough asian american community in my town for live turtle to be shipped here like that.
