I have a 150g tank with a Tire track eel and a Black ghost knife I have well water and have had vary good luck with my tank.
But recently I had to install a water softener so my hardness has gone from 300gh to 25gh, And i have plumed in water lines so that I can add the correct temperature every water change its a vary handy and simple way to maintain my tank.
My question is can my fish survive in soft water? Thanks

what kind of softener.if uses salt then no don't use it.if its a ro system than you will need to add some minerals or mix with your well water.why don't you just keep using what you were using?

your fish will do excellent in soft water

Thank you for responding, I don’t know if it is pure laziness or what but as I said before I have already plumed hot and cold lines to my tank for easy and precise water changes.
So that water that is drawn from the hot water heater is softened, sure I could just run an unsoftened cold line but fist I want to know if soft water will be okay, and it is just a basic water sofener their is no R/O. so far I have found that my fish prefer water hardness between 8-20gh and in testing at about 25gh so hmmm?
