I got a new tank and transferred all my fish and coral over. Everything appears to be ok except for 2 soft corals. The two tanks have a different salinity (old 30g - 1.025, new 90g 1.021) and the temps were about 4 degee difference but both are within quality water specs. Also the new tank came with a 2 bulb T5. My LFS said that my softies and lps would be fine under this light for a while. They just look limp... Is this normal from the tank change or should I be concerned?DSCN1354.JPGDSCN1353.JPG

Looking about the same this morning... Xenia is even droopier. Ideas?

Hmm I really don't know a good answer because I've just started adding corals a few weeks ago.

How long are your lights on?

lol 8 hours... I've had both these both for like 6 months in my 30g and were thriving...

is there a way to fix/help them or just wait and see?

you did not give time to aclimate would be my gess. With some coral changes in temp, salinity, and lighting does matter and your goal should be to get a 100% replica of there pevious enviorment. evan two different corals of the same species can be more sensitive than anouther

+1 I was thinking of that...then I got to lazy to write a lot lol

Best to just wait and see IMO...because they will probably get stress even more

Likely the result of the .004 drop in salinity, as well as the 4 degree temp difference, these changes are pretty big for corals. I would recomend in future that you either try to match the parameters better before switching (aka perfect or damn close match) next time, or doing a long slow acclimation. I would also say don't do anything, as you will just stress them further, wait it out and hope for the best.

ok... well my xenia has disappeared in the tank. The was a gathering of hermits where the xenia was so I am assuming it finally bit the dust and they ate it. The kenya tree is actually looking better. Its starting to turn upright again and looks better...
