Anyone else here keep/have kept a softshell?

I have a few questions I’d like to ask a fellow keeper.
One question is what does normal shedding look like?
Googling hasn’t really been the biggest help.
My little guy has already shed the skin on his legs and feet and now his shell is pealing. I just want to be sure this is healthy shedding and not burnt skin.
This is what it looks like.

Another question, is wrinkling on the shell normal?
It’s a bit hard to see in the picture above, but there is some wrinkles along where I believe his ribs end inside the shell. Maybe he is still just thin? I feed him once to twice a day, but he has started to eat less and less pellets. Preferring instead to eat blood worms and snails. I’m trying to get him to eat more things, but he is being a bit stubborn.
I’d love some feeding advice.

A little info
He has his uvb/uva light and a heater in the water. No heat lamp since it stays very warm with just the one lamp.
Water is filtered and changed every 3-5days.
Currently he has giant danio fry in the tank with him, but they will be moved out after the holidays. I suspect he has been picking off the little ones. Though I haven’t caught him in the act.
He is basking regularly and also loves to hide in the sand substrate.
I have cuttlebone in the tank and some weird little turtle thing that claims to keep bad bacteria in check. Anyone know if those really work the way they claim?

No one?

An update...
The skin on his shell all shed off. Underneath is healthy and vibrant looking.
So I’ll take that to mean it was normal healthy shedding.

Sorry I couldn't help but happy to hear it was nothing to be concerned about. I see he likes to play peek a boo lol.

No worries:)
Haha, he does. One morning I was looking all over for him just to see his little face peaking out from behind his basking rock. Lol I had to run and grab my camera. Such a butt :p

I knew it was a long shot that anyone here would have one. Mfk is just my favorite forum and I didn’t want to join a different one just for turtle advice. And even forums specifically for turtle keepers seems to not really have any active softshell keepers. They must not be too popular. I hope that’s not a bad sign. Maybe it’s their adult size that puts people off?

Your right some forums are not active like MFK. I know for sure Apistogramma.com and even Planet Catfish had to wait days for replies.

That’s how my state fish keeper site is. And honestly when there is activity it’s just the same person or two. Unless you go to the sales section. Everyone goes there. Lol

Just can’t beat mfk:)

Used to have one, he looks quite healthy, and yes when younger you can see the ribs a little.

As far as getting him to eat, most meaty foods are what they crave, you can offer :
Ghost shrimp.
Trout or tilapia pieces.
Bits of chicken.
Chunks of crayfish.
Aquatic inverts such as scuds, mayfly and damelfly larvae.
Crickets and grasshoppers.
Earthworms.

Mines favorite treat were fathead minnows.

Thank you for the food list.
He does seem to only be interested in prey items now. Doesn’t care much for pellets anymore.
Since he shed his skin he is very vibrant and his shell doesn’t look wrinkled the way it did before.

The wrinkled look is probably from being to dry during shipping
