I have TetraCichlid cichlid sticks and Hikari Cichlid staple and the only way my cichlids will eat it is if it has been soaked in some water so its easier to chew.
Does anyone else have to do this with there fish's fish food?

Are the pellets large? Sometimes a smaller pellet will work better even if it seems small for the fish, I've had some fish in the past that would only take a smaller pellet. Just a sugestion, if you haven't tried it.

Well I have mini pellet size for the Hikari and There are only 2 sizes for TetraCichlid sticks, regular and jumbo and I have regular. The only 2 ways the fish eat the stick pellets is if it is broken into small pellet size or made soggy. But its not a problem, Just sharing and seeing if any one else needs to do this.

To start of I would avoid tetra foods. Quality products, not so quality foods.
My Jd eats anything easily. My cyano and vieja will spit hard pellets out 2-3 times befor eating it to loosen it up. I soak mine for 30 sec so my JD doesnt eat it all and everybody can eat more. Hikari sinking pellets are my staple. They are still small still.

yeah i use the cichlid sticks as well (in conjunction with several other types of pellets) and i too have to break them up into small bite size pieces or let them soak for them to eat them properly, after these run out though im actually going to get the jumbo ones to mix in with my other pellets as the jumbo ones are actually softer and are squeezable, so you just have to squeeze them so they soak up water faster and put them into the tank and its soft so the fish can take away bite size pieces and it
