Does anyone use a solar powered pump in thier ponds? I'm looking a getting one for my tub pond. I pulled out a plant that was sitting on an upside down pot to discover that i had a layer of stagnant water at the bottom filled with muck and was producing hydrogen sulfide. I just want to get the water moving, as the pond is not filtered at all, only the bit the plants contribute.
So does anyone use a sun powered filter?

Thanks heaps!

You might want to post this in the pond section. You'll get more responses there.

A solar powered system sounds great for suplemental filtration. The problem as the primary filtration that people have had in the past is what is quite obvious. However, if the pond is sufficiently large the filter can operate intermittently. The bacteria will develop a culture that can exist aerobically and anaerobically, switching as conditions dictate.
