Solar Salt GOOD or BAD?

I was going over some research and found that many of the local fish store in my area is using solar salt for their aquariums. These bag of solar salt are cheap and can last you many water changes.


My question is have you ever used solar salt and is it something recommendable to others?

its the same thing as the api carton salt....but 1000003941 times cheaper.

a 40 pound bag is 5$

its what i use. salt is salt, no matter how you package it.

not unless you make some saltwater with it...and throw in your FW fish.

No reason to use salt for FW fish. If I were you, just keep table salt in your cabinet for ich cases and focus on other things.

i thought salt helps soften the water and is beneficial to the fish in every water change.
