Hi All,

I have come upon another Gold Wolf (H.U) that has been kept soletary for it's captive lfie so far. It is approx. 9" so not fully grown but is apparently "aggressive". However, it is similar in size to my Gold Wolf that i have in my SA community and i would love to add another to the tank.

So my question is a simple one; how well will a soletary Gold wolf adapt to life with other fish and more importantly, another Gold Wolf? Will it be totally unaccepting and attempt to kill everything in its path, or will the move to a new tank potentially be succesful thanks to the change in scenary? Or will it be entirely down to the individual personality of the fish?

All other fish, bar the Brycon, are of a similar size so nothing is snack size and tyhe tank is a considerable upgrade from it's current accomodation (55- 180).

Cheers.

Who's to say, each one may act differently in the same situation. If it does not cost too much, try it and show us pictures.

cheers chaps. I'm going to give it a go. From the sounds of things, it is pretty much the same character as my Gold and with it being close (ish) and very cheap, it's got to be worth a punt.

I'll keep everyone updated..!

Well I had been asking about these a short while ago and as it happens I've finally come across one.I could'nt resist buying it with all of the attitude it was showing in the store.

Howse it going with your gold project?Mine was a beast for the first two days.It was snapping at any other fish that would go near it but then out came my grammodes cichlid which is the smallest fish in the tank. The Grammodes actually flares up at the gold wolf and even bit it on the lip and now the gold wolf keeps to the far end of the tank and does'nt bother the other fish. What a chump.:irked:

i'm collecting this weekend so i guess we'll see how it goes. The videos i've seen show him to be very active- snatching food before its in the tank! I'd love him to teach my original wolf a few 'bad' habits like that. As long as they don't start attacknig other fish. My Tat has an attitude but i doubt it will with stand too much abuse from a pair of wolves.

well I've got him. And he's a big fella!

The smaller wolf is 7" so that gives you an idea of the size difference. So far they are happily swimming together and he hasn't so muched as look at the Brycon or Geophagus so it's looking good!

My goldy still tries to eat all of the floating food and snaps at and chases the other fish away from it untill the little Grammodes comes up from out of his hiding spot and reminds him who is the boss.
