solf shelled turtle or fly river turtle substrate

Has anyone with a soft shelled or fly river turtle used black diamond for substrate?

Well, this will be a pretty late response... I would use something less harsh.
I have black diamond in one of my tanks and that stuff it pretty sharp. It hurt my hands mixing it around when rinsing it.

I have play sand in my softshell tank and he loves to hide in it.

I have some small gravel on top too.

A friend of mine recommended that exact substrate and I don't have a problem layering and mixing it.
