what are some of the most heavy bodied CA/SA cichlids there are?
not including hybrids.

The cholate cichlid come to mind. What about the Oscar that's not shrimpy fish. Many of the Vieja get big and have think bodied.

midas, bocourti, pearsi (sp?), parachromis family and JD to name a few.

midas and trimac are solid fish. i think my gt is pretty thick. also from what ive seen parachromis get beastly if you can properly care for them.

Parachromis Managuense and Herichthys Cyanoguttatus are a couple that come to mind.

Pretty much all CA cichlids, with a few exceptions are "solid bodied". From SA only a few come to mind, namely Cichla sp, festae, and Astronotus sp.
