I have two that have been together for about a year. They have grown too big to both be in my 90g - size and poop wise. Can they still thrive if none of their species is in the tank with them? They currently share the tank with some Cichlids (I know this can be a problem, but the Cichlids been with them the entire time and are fully grown. They ignore them.
Do they get lonely? I'm not just asking if they can physically survive, but can they flourish.

Thank you.

p.s. I already have a person to adopt and appropriately whichever Pleco I remove.

They're fine alone. If anything they're territorial and don't tolerate others of the same sex often.

I Have 3 all about 7-10" I keep them all seperate in different cichlid tanks. No issues they seem to growing and doing just fine.. I think you will be fine seperating them.
