Im moving house in 1 week, and dont know whether l can put my fish straight back into the tank with fresh new water or to re use te old water, only thing is if i use the old water how to get it to my new house???? It's alot of water!!!!! What should l do?????????

the old gravel should have some bacteria. I would buy some of that bio-zyme stuff, i have never actually used it but apparently it is supposed to speed up bacterial growth in the tank so you can put fish in without cycling the tank for so long, break down nitrates...etc. I don't know if you can get in australia and I've never used it.....google it, it's just an idea. goodluck

BB can live in your gravel and filter for a couple of days. Anything longer than that then you'll have to recycle your tank. So there's no need to keep your water. One more thing, make sure you the PH level is the same in the tank as what the fish are use to before you go dumping them in there.....................

The water is inconsequential. The BB colony in/on you filter media is what you need to preserve. The gravel AND decor should be preserved as well. Carefully de-chlorinate the water before you but the filter to use, the gravel/substrate probably wont survive unless added AFTER the water.
