Jar? looks like it had some sort of gill plate issue at some time. it was in with a gator or croc of some type

Picture061.jpg

nuther of the same

Picture106.jpg

this was in with pacu and a silver aro........it looked awfully "pearly" to me

Picture107.jpg

same

Picture108.jpg

same fish still

Picture111.jpg

silver in focus, other in the background

Picture114.jpg

nuther of the same silver

Picture115.jpg

silver again

the "pearly" one had a pretty nast case of DE. the silver did look to be in rather good health, other than being surrounded by all the monster pacu.

if anyone cares to id better for me that would be great,

enjoy the pics

What Zoo are these at?

I feel sorry for those aros.:(

Why?

these were all at the Omaha zoo.

short whiskers, gill curl, DE, callosed lips........i am guessing tha someone that couldnt properly house these fish "gave" them to the zoo.

anyone have an id on the "pearly" aro? it seemed a bit on the white side to be a silver

drop-eye happens to most silvers, and is gill curl even caused by bad conditions?
To me, it looks that the fish are in a nice setup and are well-cared for

i am guessing that someone in the private sector had the jar before hand......imagine someone trying to keep one in a 20........we ll know it happens
