Here are a few better pics from the last time I went collecting. There is a white bass, male and female rainbow darters, and what I believe to be a bluntnose darter.

I have a Johnny Darter in a ten gallon tank here and I feed it frozen blood worms. I hope you kept the pair of Rainbow Darters. I hope I can get a pair of either Rainbow or Orange Throat Darters for my twenty-nine gallon tank.
I caught these fish about 15 minutes from downtown Louisville. I didnt keep any because they are a dime a dozen around here. In any giving seine of the net we can catch at least a few rainbow darters if not more! All the females were full of eggs as well.
They are only that colorful during the breeding season but they are still great fish to keep, I love darters, they blow corydoras out of the water.
My Iowa darters are not as colorful when they are not spawning, but they still maintain their blue and orange coloration, especially on the dorsal.
