So I have a 30b I plan on growing out ram fry in, would it be too over the top to have a pair of ancistrus breeding in the growout tank if I just throw in like 4 oversized sponge filters and keep up on waterchanges?

I wouldn’t do it. I’d keep them separate if you are serious about wanting to breed and grow them out.
