Just have a couple questions.

Would there be a benefit to treating a juvenile Flowerhorn like a discus? Frequent feeding and daily water changes?

I recently picked up a 60" 120g for her eventual home. If I wanted to breed would this be suitiable for both her and a male with a divider or no? (I don't plan to breed but it interests me).

I'm not looking for a 'monster kok' or anything of the sort I just want to grow a happy and healthy fish. I bought Southern Delight Vegitail because it looks perfect for flowerhorns. Thoughts?

I do daily water changes in my juvenile fry flowerhorns. Growth rate is doubled compared to the traditional once a week.

120 gallon is more than enough to breed these flowerhorn. They can breed as little as 1.5-2 inches. Divider is good for flowerhorns because the males will get rough with the female sometimes killing her.

As for souther delight any type of food is really good for them but for growth you want brine shrimp. Frozen or live brine shrimp. I feed my half inch to 4 inch flowerhorn brine shrimp almost every day.

Brine shrimp as a staple? I thought I read that Flowerhorns are omnivores and need greens?

At the moment, I have flowerhorn fry and a pair of discus. To answer your question, there is really no need for frequent water changes for "a" flowerhorn. Flowerhorns are not as finicky as discus in terms of water conditions & food. With water changes, it'll depend if you have substrates. If you want to go bare bottom, you may not like to see their wastes so daily siphoning may be in order. For me, I use river rocks, which hides their wastes and can go for weeks without water changes. Even my bare bottom discus tank, I perform wc once a week or two.

Quality pellets would be best.

You might get lucky with a pair that can live together. I've had success in doing so. When breeding, I would remove the eggs and raise the fry in a separate tank. The parents soon spawn again without me having to separate or divide them up.

Cool! Yeah I have her in a 40b bare bottom and I have to siphon daily because man can she poop and it's just gross watching it pile up. Siphoning is definitely easier than doing an entire water change.
