Now in addition to my pond thats in the works i also have a 20H aquarium that i was hoping to stock with one convict and one dwarf pike (C. Regani hopefully), Is this going to be a problem? Now another thing that might be a concern to both my pond and my aquarium that i really have not given much thought to is my water source, all our water comes from a cistern. Now I'm not worried about rainwater, but will my cistern (looks like galvanized steel)leech anything harmful to fish? And the rainwater runs over our roof which gives the water a slight asphalt taste to it, is this going to be a concern? My family does alot of fishing and i was wondering if i could use salmon eggs as a occasional treat (Salmon eggs directly from the salmon, not store bought for use as bait). I appreciate advice and suggestions :)

Just test it. You can test it for the usual Ph, amonia, nitrate, and nitrite. Your local health Dept. can test it for heavy metals and other contaminants.

We have a couple of those filters, not sure what kind though. I'll probably have the water tested just for the heck of it. So you guys don't think that keeping a dwarf pike and a convict cichlid in the same tank(20H) will be a problem? Thanks for the replies :)
