So I finally managed to get the super heavy 5' tank down the stairs. Any ideas what I should stock it up with. I was thinking of some options.

It's a 5' x 1.5' x 3.5'

Option 1
A few giant snakeheads

Option 2
My friend suggested 9 silver aros

Option 3
Chiclid community

Option 4
Rays community

Option 5
A monster community (i.e. Aros, Cats, rays....)

Just a question. Would it kill if I used beach sand(thoroughly rinsed of course) as a substrate instead of gravel or whatever?

:D:D:D:D:D I'm super excited now.

Option 6
Small species of snakeheads such as Channa bleheri and loaches

;)

do what you love... everything you mentioned is a good idea.. its your tank so as long as everyone (meaning you and your fish) is happy i dont think you can go wrong...

nothing wrong with beach sand either IMO..

i reckon an all peacock bass tank would look pretty sick but its up to you.. the snakehead ideas pretty cool too

That's amazing! I've always loved chiclids.

However, I have my mind set on 3 C.Micropeltes. Don't quite like the C.Bleheri. They're smaller but not as cute, IMO. ;) Gonna get 3 young giant SH soon...once the tank is cycled. I'm still looking where to get some.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. ;)

your tank is probably not big enough for options 2, 4, or 5.

nine aro's in a < 200 gallon tank?
rays will get BIG, almost 2' big. and a "community" of these will be mayhem

my vote is for 2 aro's, maybe 3 or 4 depending on your filtration and WC schedule. and a handful of clown loaches - good luck
