Was at my local store and came across this arowana. They are calling it a "blue infusion gold" I've never seen one of this type and neither can I search for it. They have certs and microchip.
The price is about double of a cross back gold here. But I do like it.
Any advice please?

This aro is likely what is called a "Tong Yan" or "Red-Gold". Other trade names include Rose-Gold and Crossback Splendour. Essentially it is a hybrid of gold cross backs with super reds. The degree to which the hybrid has been "fixed" (standardized) by line breeding will vary from farm to farm. It would depend on what generation the fish is as well in the farm's breeding program. In general you get some really wonderful "rainbow" like colour features with Tong Yan's. A traditional version is more of a copper colour when adult. If the version has been re-crossed with BBXB or Gold XB, or even with greens, you can end up with some really neat colour combinations. Out of curiosity, what farm is this fish from?

Hi. Thanks for your response. Sorry for the late reply. They didn't say which farm it was from specifically but they import all their fish from Singapore
