I have a 30g with 6 small clowns. I got them about three weeks ago, the tank is really overfiltered with a xp3 and a HOB.

Well i was cleaning out the wool batting i use in the HOB, when i noticed that its been dirtier than average. Looking a closer i saw what looked like small brown rope pieces. At first i thought that it was poo strings or something but they were moving.

Do i have parasites? has anyone experienced this in loach tanks?

These are detritus worms. Clean out almost all the detritus, minimize your feeding rations and do plenty of water changes.

Lupin... Are they harmful?

These worms generally are not a problem, however high numbers of particular species can indicate low oxygen levels and low filter productivity, which very often suggests some degree of pollution caused by poor cleaning procedures, over crowding, over feeding and poor filtration
Please reference these sources for even more identification (and further information so as to dispel the internet aquarium myth that these are Planaria):

Thanks for the suggestions; everythings been cleaned. I do about a 25% change a week +- a day or two, this is a small tank do you suggest more WC?

bluehairman, thanks for the article, good information.

It never hurts to do more water changes and no, they are not harmful.
