ive had this guy for about 2 weeks now but i havent been able to borrow a good camera until tonight, anyway my question is if the tail will grow out any more or if it will stay this abnormal shape? a regular senegalus's tail comes out to a point at the end, and ive noticed that the only longfin ive seen that has a point at the end of the tail was CDM's. everyone else has a longfin with an abnormal tailfin, but ive also noticed that most people haven't had their longfin for very long so im not sure if it will grow out to a nice point or stay this weird shape... anyone know?

Nice long-fin!

I'm going by fuzzy memory here, but when I bought my endli's and del from Rich oh about 4-5 months ago, he had the long fins, but the fins didn't seem as dramatic as I thought they would look.

Later on, when I decided to pick up two of them, the bichirs had grown a little, and their fins seemed dramatically longer.

So I think that it's fins will grow longer as it gains a couple more inches.

As far as the tail, it depends heavily on the angle of the photo (the first two photos are CDM's, the third one is mine):

Here, CDM's LF looks like it has pointed tail:

Yet in this photo, it's got a similar shape to your fish:

Here's a pic of mine, the classic arrow shaped tail doesn't seem to exist for long fins:
